The ungodly habitually misquote the Bible and twist godly principles to support their underhanded agendas. The bottom line is, never trust the ungodly in their misleading translations of God’s Word.
If someone claims to be a Christian, but uses any of these tactics, you can assume you are dealing with a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The fact is many non-believers make up rules for Christians to follow, hoping Christians are not astute to the principles of God and will fall for their shiesty tactics that advance them, even though they have no integrity.
There are plenty of unbelievers who are brazen enough to misuse and misquote the Bible for their gain. They have no desire to understand God’s Word. They have no problem lying and twisting the truth, and more so, to give an illusion of knowledge of God’s Word, to advance to the top, to take the lead in society. Here are five twisted lies that godless people use.
1. The Imperfect “Perfect” Argument. The ungodly are quick to suggest one of two things, either that Christians think they are perfect, or to tell Christians they are not perfect, as if they should be perfect because they are a Christian. Enemies of God are instigators and will use any angle to question your Christian faith, to disturb you. “Perfect Christians” is no valid argument, however, since God doesn’t expect you to be perfect. The Gospel doesn’t teach that Christians must live up to an impossible feat of perfection. Christians are not expected to be perfect—their imperfection is the reason they serve a perfect God, Jesus Christ!
People who do not accept Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior, the Perfect One, are the ones who think they are perfect. Christians know they are not perfect and therefore, they have accepted the invitation from Jesus Christ to receive forgiveness of their sins from the Perfect One. Christians publicly confess their admission of imperfection, when they accept Jesus Christ, as Lord, and through baptism, thus declaring their loyalty and gratitude to Jesus Christ, the One who is perfect.
Anyone who uses a “perfect” argument against you should simply remind you that you have a new lease on life every day because of Christ! You are forgiven of your sins, and are free from the impossible feat of being perfect. So, celebrate Christ every time someone tries to use an argument of perfection or imperfection against you! Ignore the twisted statements of the ungodly and be free from the notion that you have to be perfect, knowing that your God, your Protector is the One who is perfect!
2. Judgment is unacceptable? The enemies of God say the Bible tells us not to judge others, but the ungodly are incorrect. The Bible says that Christians are the judge of others. Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? 1 Corinthians 2:6 An ungodly person, who plots scams, doesn’t want to be judged, and caught in his schemes. If Christians aren’t careful to judge the wicked and their lame argument that Christians should not judge, Christians will end up being controlled by ungodly people. The ungodly have been taking Matthew 7:1 out of context ever since they found it. It states, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” John 7:24 says, “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Don’t judge people on their God-given physical characteristics or their struggles. God calls His followers to be wise.
We are created with intellect, and therefore our intellect permits us to judge. God’s Word tells us to discern the spirits, therefore you must make an assessment and judgment of behaviors, lifestyles and intentions. We can’t make sound decisions in life, if we don’t make judgments. Judging the behaviors and intentions of others, is a vital weapon in our spiritual arsenal for our protection and our advancement. We want our young people to make good judgment of others, in order to be safe from insidious peers and individuals in society.
The purpose of making judgment calls is to assess the usefulness or danger of a person, place or situation. When people are scammed, they usually have trusted someone they should not have. When people are abducted, they usually have assessed or judged someone wrong—they trusted someone they shouldn’t have. A proper assessment or judgment can literally save your life. This is why evil people try their best to disarm innocent people from making a proper judgment of them and their actions, and even discourage Christians from judging them—by saying, “the Bible says.”
3. Christians must be nice to everyone? The ungodly may put out comments that Christians must be “nice,” but the Bible never says believers must be nice; they should have compassion towards all. “Niceness” is a weak state that disarms Christians to the whims of the greedy and the wicked.
The enemy wants the innocent to trust them by being nice and doing anything, they want them to do with a blind eye. “Niceness” that falls for foolishness, danger and recklessness is not a message from God. Judge others, and reject their godless agendas. Do not partner with the ungodly because their agendas are will end up killing, stealing and destroying.
4. Give or not give? The Bible instructions God’s followers to help the needy, not the greedy. The greedy, even those who appear to be rich, will always show up to beg for money. If you give to the greedy, you make them rich to have influence against you. Do not give to the greedy; give to, and help, the needy—those who are least among us—and God will give to you.
5. Love everyone’s behaviors and lifestyles? Enemies of God say that “the Bible tells” us to love everybody’s lifestyles, which the Bible does not say. We love all people, but we don’t love everyone’s lifestyle. We are not to love lifestyles of greed, foolishness, hatred, hypocrisy and recklessness. The Word of God tells us that “greed is the root of all evil.” 1 Timothy 6:10 Living contrary to God’s sensible and compassionate practices of living, sets us up for constant disappointments.
6. Christians must be silent? The ungodly imply that Christians should be silent, to not have a voice or opinion about the behavior of the ungodly. The ungodly try to silence Christians in matters that would give the ungodly leverage in society, such as not speaking or being silent to warning our teens to beware of the wicked. When Christians silence their wisdom and judgment, society suffers because the ungodly run rampant to kill, steal and destroy.
The ungodly don’t have a chance to win in society when Christians implement God’s tools of wisdom that position Christians as “the head” in society. The proper position of loyal followers of Christ in society protects believers and all people, including the ungodly.
Next time the ungodly tell you how to live, recognize how foolish and hypocritical the ungodly are. If they really knew the Bible, they would live according to God’s commands. Even if you haven’t read the entire Bible, never trust the ungodly to teach or preach the Bible to you. Instead, ask the ungodly why they are referring to the Bible, but are not a Christian? Don’t hesitate to witness to them, letting them know without publicly declaring God as Savior, and living by His principles, there is no way they can have the WISDOM OF GOD for protection and prosperity.
